Competitive sailing and windsurfing, racing at international level — Silver medal at world championships and national champion in multiple classes. Extreme windsurf adventures. Currently the record holder for the fastest circumnavigation of the Isle of Wight on a Windsurfer (4hr29min)
Sailing at a competitive level is as much a technical as a mental and physical challenge. Equipment design, data analysis, tuning and practice gets you to the start-line with potential. Years of experience on the water, developing the feel and judgment needed to know when a boat and team are working well: Reading a crew, reading the wind and waves, knowing the tactical plays, managing the risk, making the right call in the moment. It's a team sport in the truest sense. High performance is built on communication and trust as much as individual skill, refined race after race.
Long distance triathlon and endurance racing: Qualified for Ironman and Ironman 70.3 World Championships. 4-person relay Arch2Arc ultra-triathlon "Enduroman" record. Currently competing in Infinity Tough Mudder OCR racing and long distance windsurf attempts. Always on for a bike ride, swim or a run.
Staying clear-headed when conditions change, finding another gear when there isn't much left in the tank, making good decisions when you're tired and the stakes are high. This resiliance is built in the planning and preparation: the training blocks, the equipment choices, nutrition, the contingencies worked out long before the day of the event.
